Our general itinerary

Subject to change closer to the time but a few days before and after the wedding we’re planning some activities that we feel most people will enjoy and would love you to join us for if you feel like it.

We’ll be in Cape Town from mid December so if you’re planning on coming out before Christmas let us know!

If you’re planning to spend Christmas in the UK or elsewhere in the world in order to maximise your time before the wedding and also for the cheapest flights (usually) we’d suggest flying on boxing Day evening or even Christmas Day evening.

The most direct route would be to fly into Cape Town International. Sometimes a slightly cheaper option is to fly into Johannesburg O.R. Tambo and then catch an internal flight to Cape Town.

For general geography activities before the wedding are Cape Town based and anything after the wedding is Stellenbosch based. With this in mind the following is our rough plan in the lead up to the wedding…

28th DEC - Late afternoon/evening hike up Lion's Head for sundowners.

29th DEC - Shaun's Bachelors/Stag Do. Beach day at Camps Bay for anyone not partaking in the Bachelors. Good to note that the Hop-on Hop-off Red bus stops at Camps Bay if you wanted to tie this in.

30th DEC - The day before the wedding! Bridal party heading out to Elgin/Stellenbosch.

31st DEC - Wedding Day!!! Come through and settle in at Cherry Glamping from 12:30 - ceremony at 15:00. We advise getting ready where you’re staying on the 30th due to limited facilities at the venue. Please allow extra time for traffic, Sir Lowry's pass between CT and the Elgin Valley can get very busy and also checking into your tent and heading up to the ceremony spot as it's quite a big place.

1st JAN - New Years Day - brunch and evening braai provided at Cherry Glamping for those staying both nights.

2nd JAN - Leave Cherry Glamping and head back to Stellenbosch.

3rd JAN - Nadia’s birthday in Stellenbosch/Fanschhoek Wine Tram - plans TBC

4th & 5th JAN onwards - Chill out Stellenbosch way

6th - 8th JAN - Stellenbosch

8th - 11th JAN - Safari

12th - 13th JAN - Wellington

14th & 15th JAN - Cape Town and fly on evening of the 15th.
